Project Description
Marc Buxaderas was born in 1999, in Manresa. At birth he had cerebral palsy, of unknown cause, which marked his entire life. For bad, at some point, but mostly for good in many (very many) others: “me, without my disability, I wouldn’t be me!”.
The show Spasticity is the last monologue of the project “Put a disability in your life” born in 2016. The main driver and actor in the development of this project is himself. In Spasticity, where he reviews his life in monologue format, there are first-hand experiences and anecdotes seen and experienced from the perspective of a person with functional diversity. All of them explained in a humorous way, an aspect that characterizes the character and with a clear intention to raise awareness towards diversity.
Above all, it is a journey through the life of a disabled person with the desire to make visible the reality that many people find themselves in this “integrating” society. Always running away from overprotection, from the poor thing!, and with the intention of putting the viewer in compromised situations: “We will live the life of Marc, who lives on a wheelchair and lives with his cerebral palsy, from the time he gets dressed until he goes to sleep, exemplifying a real gymnasium of overcoming, full of adventures and situations, some of them surreal, others funny”.
