Project Description
Núria Esquius, actress, singer and composer, is the soul of her company, with which she currently promotes self-made musical plays with original scripts and music.
Núria Esquius started off her career in the world of opera and musicals, which makes her have a versatile and expressive voice, with a wide tessitura and great comical ability.
Her first stints as an opera and “sarsuela” singer were with Canteatre-El magatzem from Tarragona, Cor Amics de l’òpera de Sabadell, La companyia És grata (of which she is the founder), and OperaMínima from L’Hospitalet de Llobregat.
Afterwards she dedicated herself to musical theatre and other genres with Produccions Color Sépia under the guidance of Pere Sagristà-Ollé with plays like La cupletista, songs by Càndida Pérez Martínez (2004, remade in 2022). She was a member of the company Dagoll Dagom, with Mar i Cel, in which she interpreted the role of Saïd’s mother through 2005.
After becoming a mother (not Saïd’s), she committed her career to creation and musical composition, with self-made plays that featured her own songs, which are of a very personal, signature style: Històries de l’avi (2014), Estimada Cathy (2016), Trastocats per l’òpera (2017), JO JO JO, el musical que parla de TU (2019), Moments (2021), La cupletista (2022) and L’executiva (2024).
Her career path tells us a lot about her professionalism and perseverance, and it reveals her greatest passion: singing and sharing emotions.
